city life and took its toll and amanda "side project" kapousouz decided to move to the music friendly town of athens, ga to pursue music on her own.   "it's been great backing people up in varying genres, but I think from all of that experience I really know what I'd like to do musically and I'm ready to be a frontwoman."   in august of 2003, amanda competed among 130+ bands and songwriters in smith's olde bar's open mic madness tournament and managed to win first runner up.   quoted "the jill of all instruments" by atlanta's creative loafing, amanda "switched from accordion to violin, layered her sound with (looping) pedals, and asssumed a chan marshall-like breathy tone to deliver the most vivid lyrics of the tournament."   since then, the tin cup prophette has been writing songs and performing scattered shows while searching for the right band.   "it's difficult because I'm friends with the most amazing musicians, but they're all committed to their own projects."

amanda derives inspiration from bain mattox, jump (who gave her the initial push), claire campbell of hope for agoldensummer, and many many many others.
